From the 13th July 2014 the Distance Trading Standards have been replaced with the new European Union Directive on Consumer Rights. These are the basic laws that all EU based online sellers must follow.

Different EU countries may have slight variations or additions.

The new rules for online sellers are not very different from the old ones, the main difference being the length of time that a customer has to return an item has been expanded from 7 to 14 days.

Etsy have published a nice, clear explanation of the rules and what you need to do to ensure your shop is up to date and legal.
