TTLongXmasTag

Gosh, this year has gone by so fast. Already it is time to make the final tag for 2015. I have been creating tags most months for the 12 Tags of 2015 game that Tim Holtz runs on his great blog. As with previous tags, here is a little tutorial of how I made my version of the December tag.

As with my previous tags, I started by diecutting a tag shape from mount board using the Tim Holtz Tag & Bookplates Die by Sizzix. I took an old tumble dryer sheet and glued it to the tag using Ranger Multi Matt Medium glue. Then I used the Holiday Knit stencil, also by Tim Holtz, and laid it over the tag. I pounced Fired Brick Distress Ink through the stencil. I loved this effect. It is not too easy to see in the pictures, but in real life it looks like a snuggly fleece Christmas sweater.

Next I cut out a wreath using my Silhouette Portrait and a design I found in the Silhouette Store. It was a one piece wreath (cut in light green card) with 8 individual fronds (cut in darker green card) glued on top. I then used three colours of 3d Pearl Effects from Dovecraft to add some “berries” to the wreath. These catch the light nicely as well as adding a bit of dimension.

I glued the wreath to the tag with Anita’s Tacky Glue. Then I tied some tiny bows from red glittery cord. I added four of these to the wreath with the tacky glue.

I die cut “Seasons Greetings” using a Tonic die, from shiny green card. I felt it as a bit bright, so pounced some Peeled Paint Distress Ink over it to dull it down a bit. I glued this to the tag with the tacky glue. Then I added a self-adhesive red and gold ribbon at the bottom. Then I used my Crop-a-dile Big Bite to punch a hole and added a silver metal snowflake brad to finish.

Finally I added a green ribbon and two self-adhesive faux pearls to the top of the tag.
